Culture Fair Test

Saturday, November 4, 2017; 3:00 pm

Private office on Jefferson Blvd, Warwick, RI
Address will be provided upon pre-registration; walk-ins not available.

The culture fair test battery is primarily for those who do not speak English as their primary language. This battery of 3 tests is designed to measure intelligence without the influence of cultural climate, level of education or verbal fluency. These tests are non-verbal and require only that candidates be able to distinguish relationships in figures and shapes.

Our testing fee is just $30 in October (regular fee is $60). American Mensa voucher, credit card or check or money order payable to "American Mensa, Ltd". Candidates between the ages of 14 and 18 must show proof of age and be accompanied to registration by a parent or guardian, who will sign the consent to test. Please note that American Mensa cannot test individuals younger than 14 years of age on the test date; however, these prospective members may submit evidence of prior testing to qualify.)

The Mensa Admission Test takes approximately two hours to complete and includes two tests featuring questions involving logic and deductive reasoning. If you score at or above the 98th percentile on either of the two tests, you'll qualify and be invited to join Mensa.

Individuals can only take a test or test battery once. Individuals who do not qualify via American Mensa's primary test battery can also take the culture fair battery as a means to qualify for membership.

American Mensa, Ltd. offers two different test batteries for admission:
1) The Mensa Admission Test is appropriate for most candidates. It consists of two tests, either of which can qualify you to join Mensa.

2) The Culture Fair Test is language neutral. It is appropriate for people who are dyslexic or any person who speaks English as a second language. It consists of three tests, of which any one can qualify you to join Mensa. Two of the tests are untimed (within reasonable limits). Candidates should be able to understand English spoken at the 6th grade level. This test is scheduled once or twice a year. You may request to be put on a notification list.

You may take both tests, once each. The test fee is $60 per session, payable in cash, credit card, American Mensa voucher, or check or money order payable to American Mensa, Ltd.

All candidates must have a photo ID. Candidates between the ages of 14 and 18 must have proof of age and be accompanied to registration by a parent or guardian, who will sign the consent to test. Unfortunately, we cannot test anyone younger than 14 years old.

Many of our tests are administered on Saturday mornings. If this is not convenient for you, please suggest a day or time that is. We cannot guarantee we will be able to accommodate you, but we will try. Please let us know which test you prefer, the Mensa Admission Test or the Culture Fair Test, at testing@rhodeisland.us.mensa.org.

You can also submit prior evidence for admission, or take the Home test to see how you do before taking the actual test. Good luck, and we hope to see you there!

The geographic area of Rhode Island Mensa covers all of Rhode Island and Bristol County in Southeastern Massachusetts.

The American Mensa Admissions Tests are given for the purpose of admission into Mensa.
